2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

NOWA is better than later

A big push of birds last night according to radar. Although I didn't get out this morning to survey, this one (#144) joined me for breakfast. While I ate blueberry pancakes it picked off some tasty bugs from the surface of the water feature.

    Very nice Brigham, I scored NOWA this AM too. 7:50AM CST in case we resurrect the fall warb war for who got it first today!
    Only other warb was a lone Tennessee. My second ever yard Hairy Woodpecker was a bit unexpected. Did well on herons today with 2 GBHE, 2 GREG, 3 GRHE, and a young BCNH.

    Yup. You got that one on me as I did the three S's before breakfast, so 8:45AM EST was when I saw this one.
