2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

HETH and YRWA

What a day! Also added Hermit Thrush and Yellow-rumped Warbler by the end of the day. Not sure where my Sapsucker, Towhee, and Ruby-crowns are, but one can imagine it's only a matter of days now.  Watch your lead Curtis, and watch your lead Sean...

  1. OK, I've created a new page for the Warbler War on the spreadsheet. Look at it for the rules. One thing we need to clarify is what do we do if 2 of us get a first record of the season on the same day? Do we record the time of day? Or do we award the extra pt to each person?
Let me know any other comments on the structure of this "war".

  2. I'll bow to your authority on this one. If you want to, sway the rules in your direction so you have a chance to win at least one of these many contests! ;)

  3. It's about time you bow in this direction! Because of your humble spirit I'll graciously give you the extra point since you saw FOS YRWA on the same day I did. YOU'RE WELCOME...and don't forget it!

  4. By the way, all participants will be responsible for recording their own sightings on the spreadsheet. Errors may result in penalties!!!
