Here it is guys...
Year bird 95.
In actuality I never saw the Canada Warbler go "in" the water, but only flit in the branches just above it. Same with the actual "first" bird I saw at the bath, but could not photograph - a Wilson's Warbler. But it was wet and had obiviously been in it before I saw it.
I love water!
2013 and beyond
It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.
2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

By the way, CAWA is my 25th warbler of 2010. All I need is Blackpoll and I'll top off all 26 on my yard warbler list within 2010.
ReplyDeleteToday (8/22) added AMRE and a very short and bad look at a CSWA/BBWA. These were not at the bath though.
ReplyDeleteHi Curtis,
ReplyDeleteBrings back memories of the only Irish, and second Western Palearctic, record of Canada Warbler, at Loop Head, Co. Clare in October 2006...what a gem! Still the biggest crowd that I have seen at a bird on a given day, too.
Found a CSWA the next day so I'll chalk that one up for the warbler war... It may have been the same bird I saw the day before.
