2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

Yard Lifer #62

Lucked into this guy while looking for a calling EAWP. I had a flyover CONI on 22 August but I'll take this obs too.

  1. Sweet snag AABO! I picked up 8 flyover CONIs for The Wetlands last night while out grilling at dusk. #92 for the year.
Caleb and I were out for about a half hour this morning and didn't have too much of note. A YWAR was the only presumed migrant. 134 DCCO and BEKI were both decent as well though.
Also showed him this unseasonable oddity I found at a nearby retention pond that's been present for 2 weeks now: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sfitzgerald86/6058947847/in/photostream
Bring the fall warbs on and lets give this blog some mouth to mouth!
