2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

Snowy Owls et al.

Not 1 but 2 SNOWs from the lair this evening. That's 32 for the year. 31 was 3 black ducks, 30 was 2 hoodies. I'm up to 25 red-winged bbs. Yesterday, # 29 was a cowbird. I like numbers.

  1. Nice! I got 39/40 in the form of Killdeer while setting up the BBQ outside in anticipation of a visit to SEFI 2.0 from our MI compatriot SIPU.

  2. I know, right?! And it felt WEEEEEIRD. Well, you guys had 2 days of me birding my yard, zilch, so don't expect many more gifts like it!

  3. Also shocking is you didn't tell us when and how you expect to get SNOW in your yard this year. Is this one going to slip through the cracks? I'm sad for you.
