2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

Totals?

So the google doc shows our totals as:

Kat 112
RIBR 142
SEFI 84
CAPU 178
Skyler 45
AABO 70
ANJO 18
JD 11

ANJO and WWJD- surely these are way wrong, right? Let's get this puppy updated!

  1. The google doc is a pain to keep updated. I go to eBird and update in the sidebar and then go to the chart and update the total there.

  2. Agreed. It's too bad there isn't a way to write a formula in the blog sidebar which mines the totals directly from eBird, but it is not clear such a thing is possible at this point. Maybe someone like Zachary DeBruine would know how?

  3. if everyone has their yard listed, I bet there's a way to write some code to insert the running tally from those nice little synopses they show while cutting out all the other yards that don't matter

  4. i just don't have the time to keep track of the google doc
