2013 and beyond
It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.
2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

Drooling As Usual
Yeah, that's about all the excitement that January affords me at The Wastelands. Although as I was talking to a birding friend yesterday, I nabbed a female AMKE zip down the street for number 7. I get more good birds while having phone conversations with birding friends...how does that work?

that is nice! I need to hook up with that in my yard this year.
ReplyDeleteI saw a Merlin down the street but not much in the yard..... Im just not feeling it yet -- definitely lacking the motivation to really work the patch this Jan.
ReplyDeleteNice to see the (almost) full compliment of players on the field.
Yeah, not much to rave about. Had 6 AMRO fly over this morn. Maybe the 30knot west winds will kick something up off the lake in the morn. I'm not sure I want to face the wind chill though....
ReplyDeleteRicky..... I dont wanna hear about LP wind chill! Its so damn cold up here right now. I can barely see the feeders this morning through all the frost on the windows to say nothing of the tornado of snow outside
