2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

Thumbing Around

Since I haven't had the chance to tear it up at The Wastelands this week, I've taken full advantage of being in the "Thumb." Had some decent birds this week...best by far being a dark-morph adult "Western" Red-tailed Hawk...a stunning bird...

I also came across this tantalizing sign. Needless to say, I took the opportunity to "traspass" all over the place. Some of you might ask, "it snows in Alabama?" Nope...this is Pure Michigan...

Check this out Booner! Two of my favorite Yooper crazy signs (though props to your find!)

One of my all time Yooper favorites, and probably the only place it could have happened as it was during the aftermath of 9-11. (swampy).

  1. Love the sign Booner, but I'd be careful, you sure have purty ears. There's a fine example from the UP that my bud came across while doing loon work - I'll try to dig up and share, it's chilling.

C-put love the new banner. Sweet map update too but Where's Harry? I hope he didn't go legit on us.

Big Rig - love the blond locks, that's a good look for you.

  2. Rick, that photo makes me want to have your babies.....

  3. Kat- Huffey Puffey hasn't responded to repeated emails, so assume has lost interest(?), still waiting for 2 people to send pics, which I'll add to the banner another time (BEWA/WWJD).

Man are there some pieces of work in the UP! Those signs are hilarious.

  4. seriously! Camp Gut Shot!??

  5. I am guessing that is not exactly the message Rashid was going for!

  6. Do you really elieve that Cale ?
