2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

shorebird time

Greater Yellowlegs kicked off the "true" shorebirds yesterday at the Chase Place. Here's one spot I should be able to hold my own against the big boys.

Good movement of Canada Goose yesterday, but with 500 birds just couldn't come up with a "special" goose. It's perplexing really.

Also, scored AMBI from the Swamp Lair (that place is getting dusty).

  1. Nice to have the shorebirds arriving. It will be weeks before they are realistic at PuttHutt, and probably only as nocturnal flyovers...

Damn AMBI sneaks in early too! Haven't really been working that one yet at all, and hope I haven't missed my chance.
