2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

Just because I can....

had a good movement of migrants today; INBU, OCWA, BTGN, BOBO, LEYE, YEWA, NAWA ...

and this sweet little puppy came for a visit;

  1. So I'm all excited this morning with my FOY Indigo Bunting at my feeders, only to find that you mention INBU as a mere *afterthought* in a larger brag about a friggin' phalarope in your yard. . . The rest of us are fighting for third place (Putty is now basically out of even your reach). Your world, boss; we're just passing through. . .

  2. Wow a first state record (Black-tailed Gnatchatcher!). I'd say the rarity of the year competition is OVER.
