2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

Slow going...

It's been very, very slow lately in the yard, with nary a migrant in the yard most days. However, I finally have scored another couple species for fall warbler war (or, as we should call it, fall warbler thumping). Too little, too late- but nice to see some migrants all the same!

Can't wait for Sean to move to IL and get started at ZERO!

    Boyz- wanted to let you know that I intend to build a nocturnal microphone like Dave's tomorrow, so you better watch out. Also, walked outside last night around 2AM (long work nights this week!) and heard a bunch of SWTHs going over plus one seep note. Should be fun to be able to start getting sonograms of everything.
