2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

  1. cool. Actually I really want to get this bird for my yard list this year, its the toughest to get- or maybe tied with RHWO- for the land. I noticed you failed to identify it. Oh, Good thing you included a photo so that we could help you ID the bird. This is a Pileated Woodpecker. Glad it was close or I'm sure you'd have thought it was a crow.

  2. Huh, isn't this that ivory woodpecker everyone's been talking about? Man, I see these things everywhere, not sure what all the hoopla's about....

  3. IBWO is a trash bird. Did you hear about that press release recently that some guy claims he has photo proof of an IBWO? He hasn't released the photos yet, I can't wait to see what sort of hoax he's cooked up.

  4. There's now plenty of info (google Daniel Rainsong) showing his kookiness and the vast likelihood this is a massive hoax.
