2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

More nocturnal fun

Saw the radar looking good again, and sat on the roof from ~10-11PM just now. Had 6-8 seeps (unknown, but several sounded like warblers, others sparrows), and 2 Solitary Sandpipers (94/132).

    your radar (Grand Rapids) looks fantastic this early am; heavy all the way to the Gulf,,, heaviest from western Kentucky and Indiana...birds are flying SW - NE and seem to dissipate just north of you with a storm front moving over Lake Michigan and Green Bay. You trolls should have a nice fallout this morning if my armchair radar ornithology is worth 2 cents.....
