2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

Canada Warblin

Had a female Canada Warbler today along with several Blackpoll Warblers and the usuals, but I only had a few minutes to bird today. A bird a day keeps the competition away I guess.

  2. Oh, and now that I ebird my list from today I guess I had 63 species. Even with several misses on the usual crew thats a decent list for half an hour.

  3. The Park at work now nearly exceeds my yard list for the year. Goes to show what a migrant trap and some mature forest along with your scrubby fields can do for you. Been averaging about 80 species a day there lately. GWWA the day before yesterday was sweet, as well as a Lincoln's Sparrow.
