2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

ROPI - yee ha...

I don't even know why I'm posting this lame yardbird 'cept to make sure the Kat knows I'm steppin' on his tail and the Dog is fore-Warned of a lost lead.

  1. 10-4 on that Good Buddy -- War has been declared on 50 acres in Ohio.

It's fine time the crown migrated north to Michigan.

    P.s. get off my tail.

  2. I cannot help but think of that most famous of military conflicts and how it is reflected upon our situation now. The Toledo War (1865-1866, causalities- 1 mule and a MI sheriff stabbed with a pen knife) was fought over the rights to Maumee Bay and the Toledo strip. eventually the US government had to step in and meditate the damn thing. In negotiations, Michigan was offered the western 2/3rds of the Upper Peninsula if we would cede the Toledo strip to Ohio.
It was considered a win-win by most, but I think we know how this benefited the Wolverines and left the Buckeyes the objects of scorn and ridiculed by their northern neighbors.

so Harry, are Yanks insane or what?

  3. Yeah, you can have it. But not for long, I'll be needing it back at some point. Tomorrow I won't be birding the yard much, but Wed. prepare for a reckoning.
