2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

The Arrival.

As aniticipated due to the weather and last night's radar the early migrants have arrived and decended upon my yard today. I managed 6 yard year birds (but no life yard birds) and 32 species today. Oh, and one mammal too.
Here's the 6 new for the year:
Northern Flicker (32)
Eastern Towhee (33)
Fox Sparrow (34)
Hermit Thrush (35)
Eastern Phoebe (38)
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (37)

  1. Dave, just when I thought I had passed you by one, you go and up me again...but I'm still on your heels!

One other thing. Who messed up the Google doc?? Several of us are no longer listed...

  2. The columns were just hidden. Not sure who did it.
