2013 and beyond

It's pretty simple: the most birds seen or heard from one's yard during 2013 will be the "winner". Want in? O.k....then do it despite that.

2013 promises to be a lot less mean but still a carbon-free birding competition, even if slightly less exciting than a MEGA x EPIC hybrid.

Timberdoodle & RUBL

Am. Woodcock showed up this evening on the old golf course west of the property. 5 were audible from the yard displaying. As well, a Rusty Blackbird was singled out from the numerous RWBL, COGR, AMRO and KILL Flying over this morning.

  1. Right on Brigham! I was wondering about AMWO yesterday. Ever seen what seemed like a migrant bird flying over at dusk? That's probably my only possibility of getting the species for my yard. Do their wings always make that sound when males are in flight? Hmmm...

Boone, I think you do have a chance I've seen then in what seemed to be migration flight , their wings don't always make the full on sqeeky noise when just flying but it is noisy
